What a Load is, why loads are immutable history, and how the prediction card and workbench explore a charge without ever recommending one.
A Load is a recipe: cartridge, powder, bullet, charge, and optionally primer, brass, seating (CBTO), and lot. Loads are immutable history — Duplicate creates a child load, building a development tree, so the data you shot yesterday always refers to exactly what you loaded yesterday.
The prediction card
The prediction card models velocity and pressure for the load. Pressure is shown only as a percentage of SAAMI maximum average pressure (MAP), and being under MAP is shown neutrally — never green — because “under MAP in a model” is not the same thing as “safe in your firearm”. The caution color keys to the modeled high end of the interval, not the midpoint.
The workbench
The workbench (Design a charge) sweeps charges and shows the ladder, case fill, recoil, and seating sensitivity. It is a starting-point explorer: reduce and work up from published data.
The app never recommends a charge and never declares a load safe to shoot. That is not a disclaimer formality — the model genuinely cannot know your firearm, your brass, or your lot of powder.
Many loads under one ammo
Every load is filed under an ammo — its shared cartridge, bullet, firearm, and a target velocity. One ammo carries many loads: several powders or charges aimed at one goal. Each keeps its own powder, charge, chronograph strings, and velocity — nothing is averaged across them, and comparing them lines up each load’s predicted velocity against its measured one.
