The honesty boundary
The rules this app holds itself to — intervals, pressure as a percentage only, immutable data, and no promise of safety.
This app is a referee, not a cheerleader. The rules it holds itself to:
- Predictions carry intervals and a provenance grade. A number without an interval is an opinion.
- Pressure appears only as a percentage of SAAMI MAP, and under-MAP is neutral — never green, never “safe”. A model cannot certify safety; only published data, careful work-up, and your own firearm can.
- Measured data is immutable. Exclusions are flags, not deletions. The statistics engine never predicts, and the ballistics engine never touches your measured data — they are separate on purpose.
- Estimated inputs are labeled estimated. Corrections you didn’t enable don’t silently apply. Failed operations say so.
If the app ever seems to promise more certainty than the data supports, that’s a bug — in the honest sense.
