The two jobs Loadbook does — predicting a load and refereeing your range data — and how to pick a mode on first run.
Vegan’s Loadbook does two jobs: it predicts what a load will do (velocity, pressure, trajectory), and it referees what your ammunition actually did at the range (honest statistics over your chronograph data).
Picking a mode
On first run you pick a mode:
- Reloading + Ballistics shows everything.
- Ballistics only hides all powder and charge surfaces — it’s for shooting factory ammunition.
Switch anytime in Settings; nothing is deleted when you switch.
Where to start
- If you reload: create a Load (cartridge + powder + bullet + charge), log chronograph strings against it, and let the statistics tell you what changed.
- If you shoot factory ammo: create Ammo instead (bullet + muzzle velocity), and go straight to the trajectory calculator.
What “modeled” means
Every number this app models carries an interval and a provenance. When the app says modeled, not measured, it means exactly that: verify against published data and your own chronograph before trusting anything downrange.
